Pink Shirts and Burn Books: Miniskirts $50 or Less in Honor of Mean Girls

If there is one item in the Mean Girl's wardrobe that can be called the official mascot for the Plastics, it would have to be the miniskirt. These tiny additions to their ensembles were seen on Gretchen, Regina, and Karen more times than Coach Carr had fun in the projection room---if you know what I mean. In fact, after Cady starts to become a little too good at pretending to be a plastic, her three new frenemies give her a makeover. The next day, as a symbolic initiation of some sorts, Cady walks alongside them with a new look and what seems to be a plaid pastel miniskirt. Yup, like Andy did with her Jimmy Choos in The Devil Wears Prada, Cady sold her soul the minute she slipped into that its-bitsy article of clothing.

Of course, don't be turned off by them just because they were once donned by evil. Miniskirts can be lots of fun to pair up with various tops and shoes. They come in an array of colors and prints and can always add a bit of zestiness to your outfit. Therefore, here's a list of ten skirts, all for $50 or less, to fill that flirty yet chic fix of yours. Just a warning, don't bend over!

ASOS Mini Skirt With Scallop Hem $37.93

SCUBA MINI SKIRT $34.90

AE DESTROYED DENIM MINI SKIRT $39.95

Petite Daisy Pep Hem Skirt $17 (Sale Price)

Pink Shirts and Burn Books: The Power of Pink in Honor of Mean Girls Anniversary

Thanks to Karen Smith saying, "On Wednesdays we wear pink," ten years ago today, it is undoubtedly one of the most used quotes from Mean Girls. It has become apparent, especially now with social media, that this line will never die, but rather reign on in all its bright hued glory. For instance, people have hashtaged this one particular quote almost 74,000 times on Instagram alone. Yup, I guess it has just as much power over people as Regina and her plastic minions did on their high school.

While some may ponder as to why such a simple line could receive so much attention and nostalgia, I have come down to the conclusion that it has to do with more than just the way Amanda Seyfried utters it in perfect childhood excitement. It's about the color itself. Pink has been ingrained in most females since childhood to be the "girl" color, such as blue for boys. Sure, there are many who speak against this view. I don't mind it as long as you like the color. Heck, my favorite is green and my room is painted lavender, but I also like to sport a nice pink accessory or outfit on the occasion. It's a color that can be worn by almost anyone brave enough to don such a standout hue. That's why, although it has its haters, pink certainly can hold its own as a dominant color. After all, it is also the symbolic hue for Breast Cancer Awareness.

In the film, they may dress in it on Wednesdays, but pink has been making a name for itself long before the hit comedy and still carries on screen today. Therefore, to continue this weeks party in honor of Mean Girls 10th anniversary, we use today (Wednesday), to look back at some of the most memorable pink ensembles to grace film. Proving that pink isn't just for plastics and specific days of the week, it's a color for strong, funny, and leading ladies too.

Pink Shirts and Burn Books: 5 Best Foot Creams in Honor of Mean Girls

Day two of this week's anniversary celebration for Mean Girls focuses on something not so glamorous, but always needed---an excellent foot cream. Well, more like a zit eraser in Regina George's mind.

One of the many pranks that Cady, Janice, and Damien pulled on the Queen Bee herself, was switching products to trick Regina into using foot cream on her face. What was meant to make her smell like feet, ended up turning her into a peppermint paddy and her face seem even more delicious in Aaron Samuel's eyes and mouth of course.

Although this little attempt did not make much sense and backfired on the scorned trio, it did give me an idea for a post. What about feet? Unfortunately, like armpits, feet have taken the back burner in our physical priorities. Sadly, they are seriously underestimated. I mean what do we really do for them besides an occasional pedi? We cover them in prisons a.k.a our shoes, drive with them, walk, run, and put them through other extraneous actions. So in honor of Janice's fake zit cream gift to Regina's face and our very under appreciated feet, here are five of my favorite creams to pamper your two best friends. No, not your boobs Karen!

Totalist 4 is my best kept secret when it comes to creams. I love this product so much that I apply it on my hands and feet every night before bed. When I wake up the next day both are as soft as that adorable dog from the Cottenelle commercials. It is made and shipped from Colombia so the labels are in Spanish and to buy it isn't very easy. It is rare, but online makes it possible.

Eucerin was created over a hundred years ago and there is a reason it has lasted this long. This doctor recommended cream brand has a plethora of products to moisturize, heal, and beautify any extension of your body. For feet, their Intensive Repair is my favorite. Goodbye cracks and hello smoothness!

I'm not usually one to worship Victoria Secret's creams and body mists like some do, but I will always boast about their Strawberries & Champagne scented body lotion. Of course, I am a little bias because the scent is based off of my most favorite party snack, a little champagne with strawberries---blame Pretty Woman. Not only does this cream smell yummy without being overpowering, its silky consistency goes on like butter. This is great to use on those summer days where you want to go out in strap heels or sandals.

AHAVA mixes almond and avocado oils to basically guarantee hydration for your feet as well as restore your skin's minerals. Also, this cream gives your feet a fresh scent due to its tea tree-leaf oils.

The final foot lotion on this list goes to Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme. With its 5 star rating and coconut oil infused goodness, this little tube goes a long way. Its 94% all natural approach with ingredients such as rosemary and peppermint, makes it the perfect gift for your overworked feet. Plus, maybe you can try it on your face and have your very own Aarron Samuels comment on it.

Pink Shirts and Burn Books: Mean Girl's 10th Anniversary

It was ten years ago, while in a movie theater in Europe, I saw a trailer for Mean Girls. As a twelve-year-old, I immediately became captivated by the comedy that would take the actress I related to in Parent Trap and turn her into an undercover conspirator to destroy her schools viciously vain and fake (plastic) group of girls. One would think that a film about bullies, teen angst, and immature banter would be pointless, but with Tina Fey's witty writing and a cast that could make even the most vapid of people (here's to you Karen Smith and your weather fortune-telling boobs), into iconic and quotable movie characters, this became a hit and now a classic. Dare I say it is ...fetch?

Based off the book Queen Bee's and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, the film followed Lindsay Lohan's character Cady Heron as she transitions from her former sheltered life in Africa to the very social hierarchy filled one that is high school. Similar to Winona Ryder's role in Heathers, Cady catches the eyes of some powerful, well more like feared and hated, girls at school and is taken under their wing. She begins to spy on the trio played by Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, after speaking with her new close friends Damien and Janice. What begins as harmless fun soon turns into a game of destruction involving foot cream, fattening bars, and one very pink burn book. Let's not forget those lethal school buses.

With the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls strutting its way here this Wednesday, Lucy & Camilla has decided to celebrate with a week-long event. Everyday I will be posting a different article on fashion related and miscellaneous topics surrounding Mean Girls. From "How to's" about acquiring the famed wardrobe of your favorite characters to a special Wednesday post on wearing pink, this week is going to be fetch! Maybe I should stop saying fetch. What the heck! Regina George isn't nearby so who cares?

So grab your over sized pink shirt, ask the cute boy in front of you what today's date is, and become best friends with Glen Coco because this week is Mean Girls Week and there is nothing getting in your way. Unless you fall into a trash can.

Here are some great quotes to start the week out!
